MARC (Machine-Readable Cataloguing) records are available for the Canadiana Online collections. Going forward, as new items are added to Canadiana Online, MARC records for this new content will be added on a regular basis.
Legacy MARC records for the former Early Canadiana Online (ECO) collection are also available. ECO was a subset of Canadiana Online, and while new material is being regularly added to Canadiana Online, ECO is a closed collection. Libraries are encouraged to access content through the Canadiana Online collection which includes the 6 million pages of ECO content as well as an additional 13 million pages of monographs, periodicals, annuals and newspapers.
CRKN is currently working towards offering metadata in KBART format.
CRKN is committed to decolonizing descriptions, search terms, keywords, and other classifications. Under the guidance of the Preservation and Access Committee, we are developing a plan to integrate culturally sensitive metadata and descriptions. More information will be available soon.
