The Canadian National Digital Heritage Index (CNDHI) is a growing index of digitized heritage collections from across Canada. Supported by Library and Archives Canada and CRKN, CNDHI aims to be the single source for discovering Canadian documentary heritage online.
Indexing collections from universities, provincial and territorial libraries, heritage organizations, and other Canadian institutions, CNDHI is designed to:
- Increase access to digital heritage collections in Canada
- Create information sharing within the Canadian documentary heritage community
- Support the academic research enterprise
As of March 2019, more than 1,500 collections have been indexed in CNDHI. CRKN is committed to increasing the scope and diversity of further additions while re-examining the historical and institutional biases that may occur within the current index.
