Partnership for Open Access

The Partnership for Open Access (POA) enables open access publishing in Canada.

The POA provides financial support to non-commercial scholarly journals through the ongoing commitment of library partners and is based on a close collaboration between all stakeholders of the research ecosystem.

Part of the diamond open access movement, the POA is building a collective, equitable, and robust path for the dissemination of knowledge.

The POA is a collaboration between CRKN and Érudit and was formed in 2014. Read more about 10 Years of POA.

Libraries can participate at one of three levels, based on their financial commitment:

  • Champion libraries contribute at the level set by their consortium’s agreement and make an additional contribution to the Open Access Acceleration Fund.
  • Partner libraries contribute at the level set by their consortium’s agreement.
  • Ally libraries make a contribution to the Open Access Acceleration Fund.

The Open Access Acceleration Fund increases the financial support provided to the diamond open access journals on the erudit.org platform.
