Canadiana: Building the Future
This session will provide members with an update on CRKN’s CFI-funded work and the next steps expected to begin in January 2027, including the current project funding context and how CRKN is positioning the project for long-term impact. It will also highlight CRKN’s collaboration with other CFI- and Alliance-funded recipients to better leverage shared funding, personnel, expertise, and compute capacity across the digital research infrastructure ecosystem in this funding cycle.
The session will explore emerging work on how HSS DRI is funded in Canada, with particular attention to the substantial role libraries play in sustaining this ecosystem and how that contribution can be communicated and leveraged. Members will also have the opportunity to discuss CRKN’s broader role in supporting the Canadian Humanities and Social Sciences digital research infrastructure (HSS DRI) landscape, including progress with partners and ongoing conversations with organizations such as the Alliance, ISED, and SSHRC.
