Laying the Groundwork: Data-Driven Insights for 2026 Negotiations
**This event is for CRKN members only**
Resulting from discussions with members at the 2024 CRKN Member Summit and as part of the Content Strategy Committee’s preparations for the 2026 license negotiations with the five largest commercial publishers (Elsevier, Sage, Springer Nature, Taylor & Francis, and Wiley), CRKN staff have gathered significant data to conduct analyses of global and CRKN-wide publication output (both open access and paywalled), license fees and the effect of foreign currency exchange, and library collections budget history. As a lead-in to the 2025 CRKN Member Summit in Halifax, we invite all library staff to attend an upcoming webinar where we will present the key findings from this initiative and lay the groundwork for further discussion at the Member Summit. Simultaneous translation will be provided, so please participate in the official language of your choice.
This session will:
- Outline our analytical approach
- Highlight significant findings
- Explore the strategic implications for upcoming negotiations
- Provide members an opportunity for feedback and suggestions for future analysis
