CRKN is pleased to release 75,497 MARC records for the Canadiana Online collection. MARC records are now available for 85% of the monographs currently in the Canadiana Online collection. Early in 2019, MARC records for the remaining Canadiana Online monographs, as well as for periodicals, government publications, and newspapers in the collection will also be available.

Our 2018 Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held from October 16 to 18, 2018 in Vancouver. 88 CRKN members, stakeholders, and special guests attended the AGM and enjoyed the unseasonably warm and sunny temperatures in Vancouver.

The Content Strategy Committee met in-person on November 22, 2018 in Ottawa. The CSC discussed the 2018 license renewals, committee updates, and AGM debrief information.

The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) and the National Heritage Digitization Strategy (NHDS) welcomed 124 attendees to SFU’s Segal Building for an afternoon of learning, sharing, and discussion on the future of digitization, access, and preservation of Canada’s documentary heritage.

Ottawa, October 2, 2018 – The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) is pleased to announce Benoit Séguin as the recipient of the 2018 Ron MacDonald Distinguished Service Award. The award will be presented on October 17, 2018, in Vancouver, British Columbia, as part of CRKN’s annual general meeting.
