Corey Davis is the Digital Preservation Librarian for the University of Victoria, where he develops services, infrastructure, and organizational capacity to support long-term preservation. He is active in several national preservation efforts in Canada, including as a founding member of the Digital Research Alliance Preservation Expert Group, the Canadian Association of Research Libraries’ Digital Preservation Working Group, and the Canadian Web Archiving Coalition.

Repo Roundup: How Local Practice is Enhanced through Collaboration

This session will look at the complex repository landscape of one institution through the lens of digital preservation. By examining digital preservation workflows associated with UVic’s institutional repository, plus repositories for digital collections and research data, we’ll look at how community-led preservation services are enabling local preservation actions right now, and what an ideal repository-preservation landscape would look like if even more shared services were developed nationally.
