Unsub
After reviewing the functionality, data output, and members' usage of Unsub, and in consultation with the Content Strategy Committee, CRKN has decided not to renew its subscription to Unsub. Since 2020, CRKN has subscribed to and provided access to the Unsub tool as a benefit of CRKN membership. The last day of CRKN's subscription to Unsub will be May 14, 2025.
Unsub, developed by non-profit organization Our Research, combines journal-level open access data with citation patterns and COUNTER usage statistics into a comprehensive forecasting tool. Through individual institutional dashboards, CRKN members can use Unsub to analyze collection usage and entitlements, inform decision-making and collections strategies, and enhance resource development. The CRKN licensing team is using the tool at the national level to inform negotiation strategies.
Working with designated administrators at each member institution, CRKN implemented Unsub in July 2020. We have renewed our subscription on behalf of our members for 2021 and 2022.
