FAQ

General

Q: What’s the difference between the virtual and in-person portions of the conference?

A: This year’s CRKN conference has two separate events.

The virtual conference includes the thematic sessions, which are primarily made up of contributed talks, presentations, and roundtables accepted from proposals submitted through our call for proposals. There are also a few sessions outlining CRKN and stakeholder initiatives. **Note that registration for the virtual sessions has closed.**

The in-person event is for CRKN members, including staff from member institutions and especially senior leadership. The participation of senior decision-makers and CRKN voting representatives is critical to the success of the discussions planned in Montreal as they will guide the future of CRKN’s programs. This part of the conference is for members only because it will involve sessions on future strategic directions for CRKN as well as our annual meeting of the members. Members can register for this in-person part of the conference.

Q: I have registered for the virtual event. How will I access the sessions?

A: All of the virtual thematic sessions will be held on Zoom. You will receive the link to the Zoom sessions via email. You will use the same Zoom link to join all of the sessions for the virtual event.

Registration

**Registration for the virtual sessions has closed**

Q: I’m from a CRKN member institution. How do I register only for the in-person event?

A: If you want to attend the in-person event, please register here.

Q: What is the registration deadline for the in-person workshops?

A: You must register for the in-person portion of the conference by October 23, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. EDT.

In-Person Event

Q: Who should attend the in-person event?

A: The in-person event is for CRKN members, including staff from member institutions and especially senior leadership. The participation of senior decision-makers and CRKN voting representatives is critical to the success of the discussions planned in Montreal as they will guide the future of CRKN’s programs. This part of the conference is for members only because it will involve workshops on future strategic directions for CRKN as well as our annual meeting of the members. Members can register for this in-person part of the conference.

Q: I’m a senior administrator of a CRKN member institution. Why should I attend the in-person event?

A: As a member organization, CRKN’s initiatives are member-driven. The conversations held during the in-person programming will guide the future of CRKN and your contributions are essential to building a strong, collective future for CRKN and its programs. The in-person component of the conference has specifically been developed in the workshop style in order to promote engagement from our members. These two days will be focused on discussion rather than presentations. As a senior administrator from one of our member institutions, you are best positioned to help us ensure that the needs of our member institutions are at the forefront as we work to develop our strategic directions.

We will also be hosting our annual meeting of the members during the in-person event, which is a crucial component of our governance structure involving all CRKN voting members.

Q: I’m a CRKN voting member but am unable to attend the in-person event, including the annual meeting of the members. How can I ensure that my institution is still represented?

A: We still want to ensure that your institution has their vote at the meeting of the members, so please fill out this proxy form by October 24, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. EDT. Completing this form will allow another colleague to carry out your role as the voting representative of your member institution.

Q: Where is the in-person portion of the conference taking place?

A: This year’s in-person event will be in Montreal at Le Centre Sheraton Montreal.

Q: Is there a group hotel rate available?

A: CRKN has reserved a block of guest rooms at our venue, Le Centre Sheraton Montreal, for attendees at a special rate of $199/night.

Q: What is the deadline for booking the group hotel block?

A: To receive the negotiated rates, please book your room by October 3, 2022.
