CRKN is delighted to share that the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) have announced upcoming enhancements to their Convergence platform—including integration with ORCID!
We frequently hear from members about the importance of integrating ORCID into Canadian funder systems, and many view this as a key step in advancing the adoption of persistent identifiers (PIDs) across Canada.
With this integration, applicants will be able to seamlessly pull affiliation and education information from their ORCID records directly into Convergence. This will help reduce the administrative burden and streamline the grant application process.
The integration of ORCID will be piloted in Convergence, as it is the most modern granting system at NSERC and SSHRC. At this time, only funding opportunities in Convergence offer this feature.
We look forward to supporting NSERC and SSHRC in implementing ORCID. Please see the full announcement on NSERC’s website.
