The Stem Cell Network (SCN) is joining ORCID-CA Consortium
CRKN and the ORCID-CA Consortium are pleased to welcome Canada’s Stem Cell Network to the ORCID Canada Consortium!
The Stem Cell Network (SCN) is a Canadian not-for-profit that supports stem cell and regenerative medicine research; training the next generation of highly qualified personnel; enabling knowledge mobilization of research; and enhancing the commercialization readiness of stem cell and RM innovations. From the lab to the clinic, SCN’s goal is to power life-saving therapies and technologies through regenerative medicine research for the benefit of all. Created in 2001, with support from the Government of Canada, the Network has funded over 280 research projects and 30 clinical trials, cumulatively driven by experts from 350 research groups across Canada. Since its inception, over 28 biotech companies have been catalyzed or enhanced and more than 7,900 highly qualified personnel have been trained.
By joining ORCID-CA, SCN aims to strengthen researcher identification and attribution across its research and training ecosystem. ORCID integration will support more accurate tracking of research contributions, publications, funding, collaborations, and trainee outcomes, while helping reduce administrative burden for researchers and partners. Participation in ORCID-CA also aligns with SCN’s commitment to research excellence, collaboration, interoperability, and open research practices within Canada’s research community.
SCN joins over 60 universities, funders, and research organizations from across Canada in ORCID-CA membership. Membership in the ORCID-CA Consortium will allow SCN to benefit from dedicated bilingual support and resources, participation in the ORCID-CA community of practice, premium Member API credentials, and much more.
