Université du Québec à Chicoutimi is joining ORCID-CA Consortium
CRKN and the ORCID-CA Consortium are pleased to welcome Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC) to the ORCID Canada Consortium!
Founded in 1969, UQAC is a French-language university and a member of the Université du Québec network. Rooted in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region, it is also recognized for its presence beyond the region, with campuses in Sept-Îles, Sherbrooke, and Montreal. With a large alumni community, UQAC welcomes a diverse student population each year from Québec, across Canada, and from many countries around the world, within a human-scale environment that fosters close interaction and collaboration.
Its broad range of academic programs and training opportunities, offered both on campus and internationally, reflects the quality of its teaching, the vitality of its research and creative activities, and its key role in the dissemination and advancement of knowledge at the regional, national, and international levels.
In this context, the institution plans to use ORCID as a persistent identifier to support the visibility and reach of research. The university aims to encourage ORCID adoption within its research community to facilitate system interoperability, streamline processes related to scholarly outputs and research activities, and strengthen recognition of the contributions made by its researchers.
UQAC joins dozens of universities, funders, and research organizations across Canada that are members of ORCID-CA. Membership in the ORCID-CA Consortium will allow the university to benefit from specialized bilingual support and resources, participate in the ORCID-CA community of practice, obtain premium member API credentials, and more.
