Université du Québec en Outaouais is joining ORCID-CA Consortium
CRKN and the ORCID-CA Consortium are thrilled to welcome UQO to the ORCID Canada Consortium!
The Université du Québec en Outaouais joined ORCID-CA in January 2026, becoming the third member institution from the Université du Québec network.
This membership supports several priorities outlined in its new five-year research and creation development plan, including:
Improving digital agility in research practices.
Revising and adapting research and creation expertise promotional tools to reflect best practices.
Implementing the government policy in support of open science.
For 2024–2025, research at UQO encompasses nearly 750 active research projects representing close to $19 million in grants and contracts. In a single year, it generated 348 peer-reviewed scientific articles published in academic journals. Research at UQO also includes 15 research chairs, of which 6 are Canada Research Chairs, and a world-renowned forestry institute: ISFORT. UQO is home to 40 additional research units, including centres, laboratories, teams, research groups, and several observatories.
By joining ORCID-CA, UQO puts into practice the new CV standards and requirements recently introduced by the Fonds de recherche du Québec and federal granting agencies, while adopting a unified and sustainable solution for showcasing the achievements and publications of its researchers.
UQO joins more than 50 universities, funders, and research organizations across Canada that are already members of ORCID-CA. Membership in the ORCID-CA Consortium will allow UQO to benefit from specialized bilingual support and resources, participate in the ORCID-CA community of practice, integrate ORCID data into its institutional information systems via the API, and more.
