CRKN and the National Research Council of Canada Add 184 Issues of NRC Research News to Canadiana
The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN), in partnership with the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), has added 184 issues of the publication NRC Research News dating from 1948 to 1969 to the Canadiana Collection. A precursor publication to the NRC’s Science Dimension, which was added to Canadiana in 2025, NRC Research News provided updates on the NRC’s research activities and personnel to “the scientific reader.”
For researchers today, NRC Research News provides insight into the NRC’s work in the post-war years, including research developments, publications, and professional events attended by staff. The publication also provides detailed information on staff appointments, departures, and awards, making it an excellent resource for those studying the careers of Canadian and international scientists at the NRC.
NRC Research News is CRKN’s second digitization project with the NRC. We thank them for partnering with us once again to make their historical scientific materials available through Canadiana.
