FAQ

Registration

Q: What is the registration deadline for the Member Summit & AGM?

A: The deadline to register with the Early Bird rate is September 1, and the deadline to register with the regular rate is September 22. Please consult our Registration Information page for more details.

Q: Can I register for just one day of the Member Summit & AGM?

A: We are only able to offer a registration rate for the full three-day event. We hope that members attending the full event will enjoy learning and contributing to all sessions covering the scope of CRKN's programs.

Location and Accommodations

Q: Where is the Member Summit & AGM taking place?

A: The 2023 Member Summit & AGM will be held in Vancouver, BC. Events on October 4 will be held at the Simon Fraser University Downtown Vancouver campus (more details to come). Events on October 5-6 will be at the Coast Coal Harbour Vancouver Hotel by APA.

Q: Is there a group hotel rate available?

A: The block of guest rooms at the Coast Coal Harbour Vancouver Hotel by APA is now sold out. Attendees are encouraged to consult the PINNACLE HOTEL HARBOURFRONT or the VANCOUVER MARRIOTT PINNACLE DOWNTOWN for their availability. Both hotels are within walking distance to the Coast Coal Harbour.

Attendance

Q: Who should attend the CRKN Member Summit & AGM?

A: The CRKN Member Summit & AGM is for CRKN members only, including staff from member institutions and especially senior leadership. The participation of senior decision-makers and CRKN voting representatives is critical to the future of CRKN’s programs, and we encourage you to attend.

If you are not a CRKN member, please note that virtual conference sessions open to the public will be held again in Spring 2024.

Q: I’m a senior administrator of a CRKN member institution. Why should I attend the Member Summit & AGM?

A: As a member organization, CRKN’s initiatives are member-driven. The conversations held during the Member Summit will guide the future of CRKN, and your contributions are essential to building a strong, collective future for the organization. As a senior administrator, you are best positioned to help us ensure that the needs of our members are at the forefront as we work to develop our strategic directions.

We will also be holding the annual meeting of the members on October 6, a crucial component of our governance involving all CRKN voting members.

Q: I’m a CRKN voting member but am unable to attend the Member Summit, including the annual meeting of the members. How can I ensure that my institution is still represented?

A: We want to ensure that your institution has their vote at the meeting of the members, so please fill out and send us this proxy form by September 26 at 4:00 p.m. ET. Completing this form will allow another colleague to carry out your role as the voting representative of your member institution.

During the Event

Q: Will the Member Summit & AGM sessions be recorded?

A: No, sessions will not be recorded.

Q: Will simultaneous interpretation be offered at the Member Summit & AGM?

A: Simultaneous interpretation will be offered for our October 5 and 6 sessions. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer interpretation for the October 4 National PIDs Strategy Session. The session will be delivered bilingually in English and French by our presenters and attendees can ask questions in either language. We apologize for any inconvenience.
