  • CRKN and NISO Announce Canadian Consortium Agreement

    Ottawa, ON, and Baltimore, MD, December 9, 2020: The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) and the National Information Standards Organization (NISO) today announced a consortium agreement to provide NISO Library Standards Alliance (LSA) membership to all CRKN institutional members, as well as associate members participating in CRKN’s content licensing program.

  • NHDS Secretariat Transferred to CRKN

    November 04, 2020

    The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) and the National Heritage Digitization Strategy (NHDS) are pleased to announce that the NHDS Steering Committee has voted to officially transfer the NHDS Secretariat to CRKN. The vote was made at the September 23, 2020 meeting of the NHDS Steering Committee, and the transfer takes effect immediately.

    The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) is pleased to share this Statement on the Economic Impact of COVID-19. This statement, written on behalf of the Canadian regional and national academic library consortia, and the individual libraries they represent, describes the unprecedented challenges and uncertainty facing Canadian post-secondary institutions. These challenges have resulted from unsustainable pricing and access restrictions and limitations, which have been augmented by the ongoing and highly unpredictable effects of COVID-19.

    The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) is inviting proposals for a records management consultant to review its existing information management practices and to develop a records management process and implementation plan which incorporates best practices. The project would encompass CRKN’s corporate records (board and committee documents, license agreements and contracts, policies and procedures, employee and payroll records, financial records, email and email archives, and project files).
