These Licensing Principles build upon CRKN’s First Principles, which were developed in 2009 to prioritize collaboration, transparency, and consensus-building among CRKN members.

Canadian Research Knowledge Network and PLOS Announce Community Action Publishing Deal

CRKN and NISO Announce Canadian Consortium Agreement
Ottawa, ON, and Baltimore, MD, December 9, 2020: The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) and the National Information Standards Organization (NISO) today announced a consortium agreement to provide NISO Library Standards Alliance (LSA) membership to all CRKN institutional members, as well as associate members participating in CRKN’s content licensing program.

NHDS Secretariat Transferred to CRKN
The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) and the National Heritage Digitization Strategy (NHDS) are pleased to announce that the NHDS Steering Committee has voted to officially transfer the NHDS Secretariat to CRKN. The vote was made at the September 23, 2020 meeting of the NHDS Steering Committee, and the transfer takes effect immediately.
