Save the Date for the 2020 CRKN Virtual Conference
Join us online this October for the 2020 CRKN Virtual Conference!
Following the success of the inaugural CRKN Conference last year, we invite members, stakeholders, partners, and the GLAM community to participate in this year’s event, which will be held over the course of October as a series of online presentations.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Access in Transition.” Sessions will include:
The NHDS and CRKN Agree to Explore the Future of the NHDS Secretariat
The National Heritage Digitization Strategy (NHDS) Steering Committee and the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) Board of Directors have agreed to investigate the transfer of the NHDS secretariat to CRKN.
Both the NHDS and CRKN agree that the transition could increase funding opportunities, revitalize NHDS governance, and maintain and develop relationships between the NHDS and other organizations digitizing documentary heritage.
Consortia Collaborating on a Platform for Library Usage Statistics (CC-PLUS)
CRKN is partnering with PALCI (Pennsylvania Academic Library Consortium, Inc.) and a number of international library consortia, including Jisc, Couperin, and CDL (California Digital Library), to develop an open technology, usage data platform for library consortia and their members. This platform will be used for the collection, display, and analysis of consortial library usage data.
CRKN Subscribes to Unsub
As part of our commitment to making evidence-based decisions and developing data-driven strategies for our commercial licensing program, CRKN is pleased to announce that we have subscribed to Unsub (formerly Unpaywall Journals) on behalf of our members.
