The Conference Planning Committee (CPC) provides leadership to develop, plan, and implement all programming aspects of the annual CRKN conference. The CPC ensures the programming of the conference represents the interests and needs of CRKN members and stakeholders and champions diverse participation and representation.

KBART Entitlement Lists Annual Update 2020

CRKN’s Knowledge Base Entitlements Sub-Committee (KBESC), formerly the Serials Management Sub-Committee, is happy to announce that the entitlements lists (in KBART format) for CRKN-licensed content have been updated for 2020. CRKN members are encouraged to locate and activate these lists in their discovery system.

CRKN Launches Digital Heritage Content and Preservation Listserv

The Canadian Research Knowledge Network is pleased to announce the launch of the new CRKN Digital Heritage Content and Preservation Listserv. This listserv provides a forum for CRKN members, stakeholders, the GLAM community, and members of the public to discuss issues related to the digital heritage landscape in Canada.

The Canadian Research Knowledge Network Launches New Brand Image

CRKN and Canadiana logos

The Canadian Research Knowledge Network has rebranded! Following a preview at the 2019 CRKN Conference, we are pleased to officially launch our new brand image, developed with design agency Trajectory. Our new logo, composed of interconnected lines in the shape of a maple leaf, represents CRKN’s nationwide membership and our commitment to providing access to knowledge through digital infrastructure.

Call for Nominations: Conference Planning Committee

Following the successful transition from an Annual General Meeting (AGM) to a Conference in 2019, CRKN is issuing a call for nominations for the Conference Planning Committee (CPC). The CPC is a new committee, established by and reporting to the CRKN Board of Directors, and providing updates to the Content Strategy Committee and Preservation and Access Committee, as needed. The committee is anticipated to launch by April 1, 2020.

DataCite Canada Consortium Membership Update

With final pricing for the DataCite Canada Consortium now established, the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) and CARL Portage are pleased to announce that service fees for 2020 can be fully covered by Portage’s RDM Directed Funding administered through CANARIE as one-time transition funding. Additionally, as previously indicated, the National Research Council (NRC) has committed to paying the 2020 member fee for the consortium.

DataCite Canada Consortium Will Launch on January 1, 2020

The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) and CARL Portage are pleased to formally announce the formation of the DataCite Canada Consortium on January 1, 2020! Through this partnership, CRKN will act as the administrative lead for the DataCite Canada Consortium and CARL Portage will oversee community support and engagement.
